Project Overview

Lisboeta is chef Nuno Mendes' love letter to Lisbon, a Portuguese restaurant on Charlotte Street that brings the warmth of Portugal to the heart of Fitzrovia. Our scope focused on the private dining room, wine cellar, and the wine bar shelving that gives the space its distinctive character.

Working within an established restaurant meant precision was everything. We had to deliver bespoke joinery and finishing work that felt like it had always been there, blending seamlessly with the existing design language while adding new functionality.

The Brief

Nuno Mendes wanted spaces that honoured the Portuguese tradition of gathering around food and wine. The private dining room needed to feel intimate and special, a room guests would remember. The wine cellar had to be functional for serious storage while remaining beautiful enough to show off. And the wine bar shelving needed to display an extensive collection without overwhelming the room.

The challenge was working within an operating restaurant, keeping disruption to an absolute minimum while delivering finishes worthy of one of London's most respected chefs.

Our Approach

We built the private dining room with bespoke timber panelling and carefully considered lighting that makes the space feel warm and enclosed without being claustrophobic. The joinery was crafted off-site to our specifications and installed during quiet periods to minimise impact on service.

The wine cellar was designed for temperature stability as well as aesthetics: proper racking, correct insulation, and ambient lighting that lets the bottles do the talking. The wine bar shelving was built to hold weight while looking effortless, with integrated lighting that highlights the collection.

Every element was installed by our team. No subcontractors, no coordination headaches. Just clean, considered work delivered to the standard a restaurant of this calibre demands.
