Casa do Frango

32 Southwark St, London SE1 1TU

Project Overview

Casa do Frango brings the flavours of Portugal's Algarve region to London Bridge. The restaurant has become one of the area's most popular dining destinations, known for its piri-piri chicken and vibrant atmosphere. We delivered the bar fit-out and main floor construction: the spaces where guests spend their evening.

The design drew on Portuguese bistro culture: warm materials, tiled surfaces, and an energy that makes you feel like you have stepped off the streets of Faro. Our job was to translate that vision into built reality, on time and ready for a packed opening week.

Scope of Work

Bar Fit-Out Main Floor Build Tiling Flooring Electrics Plumbing Painting Bespoke Joinery Lighting

The Brief

Casa do Frango needed a space that captured the casual warmth of an Algarvian neighbourhood restaurant, somewhere guests felt relaxed from the moment they walked in. The bar had to be the social heart of the room, visible from every seat and inviting enough to draw people in for a drink even if they were not staying for dinner.

The main floor needed to accommodate high covers while maintaining the intimate, bistro feel that the brand is known for. And everything had to be built to withstand the volume of a restaurant that was fully booked from week one.

Our Approach

We started with the bar, a substantial piece that anchors the room. Built with solid timber framing, tiled frontage, and a durable counter surface, it was designed to look beautiful on a quiet Tuesday and survive a heaving Saturday night. All electrics and plumbing for the bar were run cleanly and accessibly for future maintenance.

The main floor was a coordinated effort: flooring laid, walls finished, booths built, lighting installed, and decorative tiling completed, all within a tight programme. Portuguese-inspired tile patterns required careful setting-out to ensure consistency across the space.

Our in-house team handled every trade, which meant we could sequence the work efficiently and avoid the delays that come with coordinating multiple subcontractors. The result: a restaurant that opened on schedule and has been trading strongly ever since.
