This was a brand activation for Tanqueray gin at Vinegar Yard, the popular open-air venue near London Bridge. We built a complete outdoor terrace bar with a striking floral wall feature, a temporary installation that needed to look anything but temporary. The build had to be photo-ready, structurally sound for public use, and delivered within a compressed timeline.
Brand activations demand a different kind of discipline. The margins for error are even tighter because every element will be photographed, filmed, and shared. It has to be perfect from every angle.
Tanqueray needed a summer pop-up that embodied their brand: elegant, botanical, and distinctly premium. The installation had to draw crowds at Vinegar Yard, work as a functioning bar serving hundreds of guests per session, and create the kind of backdrop that people would photograph and share without being asked.
The floral wall was the centrepiece, a large-scale feature that combined real and artificial botanicals in a design that referenced the gin's botanical heritage. It had to withstand outdoor weather while looking fresh and inviting throughout the activation period.
We built the entire installation from scratch: a structural timber and steel framework, clad and finished to create the bar structure, back-bar shelving, counter surfaces, and the floral wall mounting system. The framework was designed for rapid assembly and eventual disassembly. Pop-up construction that did not compromise on quality.
The bar itself was built to commercial standard. Proper drainage, electrics for refrigeration and lighting, and a counter surface that could handle high-volume service. The back-bar shelving was designed to display the Tanqueray range prominently while keeping working stock accessible for bartenders.
The floral wall was assembled on a steel subframe, with botanical elements secured to withstand wind and weather. We coordinated with the floristry team on timing and access, managing the build sequence so the structural work was complete before the delicate finishing began. The result was an activation that looked premium, performed commercially, and gave the brand exactly the visual impact they needed.
