Kudu Grill is one of South London's most celebrated restaurants, a South African-inspired dining room in the heart of Peckham that has earned critical acclaim since opening. SKHB delivered the full build, transforming a bare shell into the warm, sophisticated space that guests know today.
The scope covered everything from structural work and the commercial kitchen through to bespoke joinery, custom metalwork, and the ambient lighting that gives the room its distinctive character. Every element was handled by our team, in-house, to a single standard.

The owners came to us with a clear vision: a restaurant that felt like walking into someone's home: warm, layered, and full of character. The space needed to seat comfortably without feeling cramped, with an open kitchen that put the theatre of cooking on display.
The challenge was delivering that level of detail within a tight timeline. The site was a raw shell, and the ambition was high. Every surface, every fitting, every light needed to contribute to the atmosphere without any single element shouting louder than the rest.
We started with the kitchen, the engine room of any restaurant. Commercial extraction, gas, electrics, plumbing, and drainage all had to be right before anything cosmetic could begin. Our team handled the full mechanical and electrical fit-out, then moved seamlessly into the front-of-house build.
The joinery was crafted to the designers' specifications: booth seating, bar counters, shelving, and custom tables. We installed bespoke metalwork throughout, laid the flooring, tiled the kitchen areas, and fitted the ambient lighting that ties the whole room together.
One team, start to finish. No handoffs, no delays waiting for the next trade. That is how we kept to programme and delivered a space that has been packed since opening night.
